That means that they may not do well at school, may have trouble making or keeping friends, and may even have problems at home and with after-school activities. Fortunately, treatments can help to control the symptoms of ADHD in most kids. These treatments typically include ADHD medications and behavioral therapy, whether it is formal behavioral therapy with a child psychologist or counselor, or just simple steps that parents and teachers learn to modify a childs behavior to help them get more organized, avoid distractions, and behave more appropriately. ADHD Medications ADHD medications have long been a core part of the treatment plans for many kids with ADHD. These ADHD medications now include: Short Acting Stimulants: Adderall, Dexedrine, Focalin, RitalinIntermediate Acting Stimulants: Dexedrine Spansule, Metadate ER, Ritalin SRLong-Acting Stimulants: Adderall XR, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin XR, Metadate CD, Ritalin LA, VyvanseNonstimulants: Intuniv, Strattera That list makes it seem like there are a lot of different ADHD medications to choose from, especially if your child has side effects to one or more of the medications. Your choices quickly narrow when you understand that the stimulants are really just different forms and variants of just two types of ADHD medications -- methylphenidate (Ritalin) and amphetamine-based medications: Methylphenidate (Ritalin) based ADHD medications: Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin and Focalin XR, Metadate CD and Metadate ER, Ritalin LA and Ritalin SRAmphetamine-based ADHD medications: Adderall and Adderall XR, Dexedrine and Dexedrine Spansule, Vyvanse Why so many ADHD medications if they are so similar? In some cases, these medications simply have different delivery methods that make them last longer. For example, Concerta is supposed to last 12 hours, while Ritalin SR typically only lasts about 8 hours, even though they both have methylphenidate as their active ingredient. In other cases, the way you take the medication is totally different, such as the Daytrana patch delivery system. Side Effects Although these ADHD medications help many kids manage their ADHD symptoms, some parents are still hesitant to start their child on a medicine like Ritalin or Adderall because they are worried about possible side effects. In some cases, those worries are justified. Stimulants used to treat ADHD are notorious for causing a decreased appetite, weight loss, insomnia, and headaches. Many of these side effects are temporary or can be easily managed by decreasing the medications dosage. Some parents are worried about the stigma of taking an ADHD medication, are concerned about controversies over Ritalin, or are worried that the medications will make their child angrier, more aggressive, or even too calm, like a zombie. Fortunately, these are not common side effects of ADHD medications, and if they do occur, your pediatrician would likely either stop the medication or lower the medications dosage. Other side effects that parents are often concerned about when starting their child on an ADHD medication can include: Tics - The worry over tics is likely because all stimulants list tics as a contraindication to their being prescribed. Many ADHD experts do not think that stimulants, such as Ritalin, actually cause or worsen tics though, and that ADHD and chronic tic disorders might simply occur together in some children.Sudden Death - Stimulants also carry a warning that they may cause sudden death in children with structural heart problems or other serious heart problems, such as cardiomyopathy or serious heart rhythm abnormalities. Remind your pediatrician about any known heart problems your child has before starting a stimulant to see if an EKG or alternative medication might be indicated.Suicide - Strattera has a warning about an increased risk for suicidal thoughts, which makes it important to monitor your child for changes in mood or behavior when starting or changing doses of Strattera. Minimizing Side Effects One of the best ways to minimize the side effects of an ADHD medication is to have realistic expectations for what you think the medication is going to do for your child. For example, if your child is so hyperactive and impulsive that he gets in trouble every day in school, it may be okay if he still gets in a little trouble for talking once every few weeks. Pediatricians, parents, and teachers sometimes get in trouble when they continue to push medication dosages to try and get total control of ADHD symptoms when the goal maybe should be to simply decrease disruptive behaviors, improve performance at school, and improve relationships with family and friends. Other tips to minimize side effects from ADHD medications: Start with a low, age-appropriate starting dose of the medication.Under the guidance of your pediatrician, increase the medication every one to three weeks until it seems to be working well or your child begins to have side effects.Consider a switch to a different type of ADHD medication if your child begins having too many side effects that arent helped by lowering the medication dosage. For example, if your child is taking an amphetamine-based ADHD medication, such as Vyvanse, then you would likely switch to a methylphenidate (Ritalin) based ADHD medication next.Ask your pediatrician if your child can take his dose of Strattera at bedtime if it is causing a lot of drowsiness.Consider a few extra healthy snacks and high-calorie foods if his main side effect is a decreased appetite and weight loss or trouble gaining weight.See your pediatrician for regular ADHD checkups, and at least every three to six months, to monitor your childs heart rate, blood pressure, and height and weight t o make sure he is growing well.Understand that you may not be able to control all of your childs ADHD symptoms with medication, especially if he is having side effects at high dosages. Simply decreasing the severity of the symptoms may have to be your goal, combined with behavioral therapy, and maybe even modifications at school.If your child isnt doing well after trying several ADHD medications and different dosages, instead of continuing to try higher dosages, which may increase the chance of side effects, consider that he may not actually have ADHD or he may have a coexisting disorder, such as depression or a learning disability.

Entrenched Sectarianism Limits Optimism, Impacts Views of Democracy Hope for a more inclusive government, however, is tenuous given the deep distrust built over a decade of sectarian tensions and violence. Many participants believe the new government is no more inclusive than the previous one and is driven primarily by sectarian preferences. This hits at a core paradox that casts a shadow over Iraqââ¬â¢s future and its ability to progress: while almost all participants are highly critical of sectarianism in Iraq, manyââ¬âeven in the same statementââ¬âdemonstrate sectarian attitudes. Though they are all eager to end the sectarian divisions, many participants still use sectarian language that further enhances this division. For example, a Baghdad Shia man says, ââ¬Å"Iraq is one of the most important Arab countries; it is unbelievable that we have a Kurdish president.â⬠Many participants view sectarianism as the underlying barrier to improving lives, strengthening the economy, resolving the security situation, and fighting ISIS. Sectarian tensions affect atti-tudes toward Iraqi leaders and democracy in general. For example, many Sunni and Kurd par-ticipants worry that Abadi will only represent Shia interests and think that someone coming from Malikiââ¬â¢s party, Daââ¬â¢wa, will focus more attention on those within his sect and ignore the needs of others. An Erbil Kurdish woman says, ââ¬Å"Al-Abadi is from the same political party as al-Maliki and they have the same ideas and politics. They are doing the

Heroic Slave Rebel in Delaneys Blake or the Huts of...
Heroic Slave Rebel in Delaneys Blake or the Huts of America and Douglass Heroic Slave The fundamental element of a successful slave rebellion is a heroic slave rebel. Madison Washington of Frederick Douglass The Heroic Slave and Henry Blake of Martin Delanys Blake or the Huts of America serve as models of that rebel. First, he must possess a will to stay and fight-he must not be content to just run away and gain individual freedom, abandoning his family and friends. Second, he needs intelligence, and preferably education as well, to be able to organize large, complex plans of rebellion. Finally, he must be a natural leader, drawing fellow slaves and free abolitionists to follow him and fight for his cause. Throughout the novels,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦But, as Madison explained to Mr. Listwell, freedom is not complete for some while their loved ones are still held by the bondage of slavery. Sir, I could not be free with the galling thought that my poor wife was still a slave. With her in slavery, my body, not my spirit, was free (Douglass 57). The duty he felt t owards his wife compelled Madison to travel back into the heart of the South to rescue his wife and her fellow slaves, rather than remaining a runaway. Unfortunately for Madison, his plan to aid his wifes escape failed and she was killed in the attempt. But, he knew that he could not have continued life without at least attempting to gain her freedom. As he said to Mr. Listwell, I could neither work, eat, nor sleep, till I resolved to hazard my own liberty, to gain that of my wife! (56). The force of familial ties drove Madison back into slavery and to rebellion. After his wifes death, Madison found himself once again a slave. He would lead a rebellion in which he eventually gained his freedom, but he had no way of knowing that would happen at the time he abandoned his freedom for the sake of her. Without this bond with his family, Madison Washington would have just stayed a runaway and never would have become a heroic slave rebel. Similarly, Henry Blake, throughout the first half of Blake, successfully ran away to Canada. Instead of traveling alone, Blake took with him Mammy Judy,

David the King of Israel and the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership After two thousand years of being scattered around the world, the Israelites, Godââ¬â¢s chosen people were finally able to come back to their historic home. When they finally settled in and formed a new government, they decided to have as their national symbol a flag with the Star of David prominently displayed in the center. One has to ask, of all the great and mighty leaders that have come and gone in the history of ancient Israel, they opted to have David as the symbol of unity, strength, resiliency, courage and above all integrity for the newly formed nation. We will write a custom essay sample on David the King or any similar topic only for you Order Now This paper will look into the life of David and how he has risen from anonymity and transformed himself to become the most effective general and political leader Israel has ever known. Introduction Based on what can be gleaned from the Bible, David did not come from royalty. But his family could not also be considered as dirt poor since his grandparents according to the Book of Ruth owned land. Nevertheless, David had to work as a shepherd boy to help augment the income of his family. They also have no servants because when it was time to seek news and provide supplies to his brothers in the war front, Davidââ¬â¢s father asked his youngest son to travel instead of asking a trusted male servant to the job. The above-mentioned information is very important because it must be established that David was not groomed as a leader. It also provides contrast to the current situation in the 21st century where people are more aware of leadership quality traits and that schools and leadership programs are being established to replicate good leaders. But it was not the case with David. It can be argued that David was thrust into the limelight so to speak and he did not plot his way to the throne of Israel. When he visited his brothers, he witnessed and heard and unusual sight ââ¬â the people of God cowered in fear against a man-giant called Goliath. The 8-foot plus warrior was taunting and blaspheming the Israelites and Yahweh respectively. His young heart could not take the insults and so he decided to do something about it and the rest as they say is history. 21 Laws of Leadership The fact that David did not consciously desired to be king and the fact that his family did not actively encouraged him to set his sights so high can be a very good starting point for studying the 21 laws of leadership. If Maxwell was right then even ancient peoples practiced these principles. If this study provides proof that an ancient leader such as David did indeed ââ¬â consciously or unconsciously ââ¬â sought out the benefits of these principles then at the end of this study one can conclude that John Maxwell was right to say that these principles are indeed irrefutable. The following pages describes Maxwellââ¬â¢s laws of leadership as seen in the life of David: A. The Law of the Lid- Leadership ability determines a personââ¬â¢s level of effectiveness David did not enroll in leadership school. His was a training program found in the wilderness. It was not formal but he desired to perfect the little talent that he had and from here he accelerated faster than the others did. During this time all he knew was three skills. The first one was to tend sheep; the second one is the ability to ward off predators using a slingshot and stick; and finally the ability to play the harp B. The Law of Process- Leadership develops daily, not in a day There were others who probably knew the same skills set as David but he became an expert in the little things on a daily basis he practiced the playing of the harp and the dead aim of a slingshot-shooter able to scare away lions and bears. He kept plugging on it until his fame grew as a young boy eager to please his father and also as a budding musician skillful with the harp. Because of constantly desiring excellence even in the little things, David was rewarded in his efforts. The news of a good musician skilled in the art of providing happiness to a gloomy heart reached the ears of a depressed King Saul. This was the beginning of an accelerated development process for David. On the part of David, it is very probable that he was not there absentmindedly fiddling with the harp but actively soaking it in learning all that he could. Now, the young is not only learning about the ways of sheep, lions, and bear he is also beginning to get an insight into the ways of a leader in the times when he was called into the palace. During this time, David had insider information as to how a government should be run. There were only a few young men given the privilege of doing so. C. The Law of Intuition- Leaders evaluate everything with a leadership bias There were many examples in his life when one can see this principle regarding intuition is in full display. The first one is when he faced Goliath. David did not grandstand or acted foolish as was suggested by his brothers. God knew what was going on, David was prompted by something so profound that no one in the whole camp was able to understand except this young man. The leaderââ¬â¢s intuition was first displayed here when David refused to back down from a blasphemer and instead asked permission to go to battle with the giant. The second time this intuition was on display was when David refused to glory in humiliating Saul and finally when his enemy was killed he did not gloat and showed tremendous restraint choosing instead to mourn the former ruler of Israel. In this way David demonstrated a leadership bias and not merely someone following the dictates of emotions. D. The Law of Influence- The true measure of leadership is influence When David decided to become a dutiful son he immediately became an influence in his region. He was well known and it is the reason why he was brought to the palace of the king. Yet his influence grew even more in his association with the king. Finally his capacity to influence others grew exponentially when he destroyed Goliath. This capability was in full display when was able to convince the King that the whole nation should put their trust in him, knowing fully well that if he failed then Israel will be enslaved by the Philistines. His ability to influence grew as he was considered as Israelââ¬â¢s new hero. The Adult Years In the second phase of his life, David finds himself married, a successful career in the military and serving a delusional king, severely depressed and jealous of his success. It was at this time when he was driven out of the palace and he survived by living in caves. It is also at this point in his life when one can observe the following leadership principles come into play: 1. The Law of E.F. Hutton- When a real leader speaks, people listen 2. The Law of Respect- People naturally follow leaders stronger than themselves 3. The Law of Magnetism- Who you are is who you attract 4.The Law of Solid Ground- Trust is the foundation of leadership 5. The Law of Empowerment- Only secure leaders give powers to others 6. The Law of Connection- Leaders touch a heart before they ask for a hand The people that he met ââ¬â during the time when he was Public Enemy No. 1 ââ¬â were acknowledged to be fugitives like David. Many were the dirty dregs of society and the Israeli military would love nothing but their capture. Yet it was from this group that David handpicked his future leaders and used it as the core to create one of the most feared armed forces in the history of ancient warfare (1 Sam. 22). This could only happen if David was able to practice the 8 leadership principles listed above, including those mentioned previously. The desperate men gathered in the caves listened to David because they believe in him and they respect him because they sense that he is a man of inner strength. They probably heard that he was the one who had slain the giant while he (David) was still in puberty. They may have also figured out that Saul is hunting him down though he is innocent. So they were attracted to him because like them he has full of potential but circumstances conspired to make him a lesser man. It is also because of Davidââ¬â¢s loyalty to Saul ââ¬â in spite of the kingââ¬â¢s ingratitude ââ¬â that made the people feel that they can trust this young man. So by training them and teaching them how to behave like a disciplined military unit, he was able to touch their inner being and he was able to empower them. Reigning King The following principles are evident even before he was making a push to ascend the throne of Israel. But it was only when he reached manhood when David was mature enough to display the following: E. The Law of Navigation- Anyone can steer the ship, but it takes a leader to chart the course For many years, David was living in a remote outpost far from Saul. But when Saul was dead he knew that the best step is to go to the capital and claim what was rightfully his according to the late prophet Samuel. F. The Law of The Big Mo- Momentum is a leaderââ¬â¢s best friend David allowed his organization, his small band of men to gather momentum. There is no use charging a fortified target if the group is not yet ready. Momentum was building for years and when he was ready he made it known that it was time to go to Jerusalem. G. The Law of Timing- When to lead is as important as what to do and where to go Those who are eager enough to seize power and those who are foolish enough to charge in without being sensitive to what is happening all around him is not a good leader. David demonstrated his knack for timing when he did not immediately enter Jerusalem after Saulââ¬â¢s death. He waited until he has gathered enough support ââ¬â until his army is ready to face whatever it is that the enemy can throw against them. H. The Law of Production- It takes a leader to raise up a leader One of the main reasons why David was able to establish a strong government can be attributed to his ability to raise up leaders. He was able to train former fugitives who used to have no direction in life until he stepped in and intervened in their behalf. The result was awesome, a multitude of military leaders were equipped and made ready for battle. I. The Law of Buy-In- People buy into the leader and then the vision Aside from leading a band of former fugitives to capture Jerusalem and other key areas in the Promised Land, the vision that David provided for his men were almost impossible to achieve. The men who went with him in pursuit of the dream have to believe first in David before they could follow him into harmââ¬â¢s way. J. The Law of the Inner Circle- A leaderââ¬â¢s potential is determined by those closest to him It is important to note that Davidââ¬â¢s capability can also be determined by the caliber of people that he surrounds himself with. According to 2Sam 16 it was not only efficient military commanders that comprise Davidââ¬â¢s inner circle but also religious men who are also an important component of Israel society. K. The Law of Victory- Leaders find a way for the team to win David, it seems, can find the solution to his problem in just the nick of time. He saw the weakness in Goliathââ¬â¢s armor and he was well aware of his enemies weaknesses and strength allowing him to become Israelââ¬â¢sââ¬â¢ most victorious military strategist. L. The Law of Priorities- Leaders understand that activity is not necessarily accomplishment When Absalom, Davidââ¬â¢s son decided to rebel against his father and tried to usurp the kingdom, David did the unthinkable. He retreated and crossed the Jordan. He saw no reason to fight Absalom and engage him head on. He was criticized by this act but he demonstrated that it is not only ruthless action that can win wars. M. The Law of Sacrifice- A leader must give up to go up It is too many to count the times when David decided to sacrifice something in order to win. The first time that he demonstrated this is by obeying his father and doing all the tedious work needed to support his family. The second incident is when he decided to run away rather than to stage a coup against his King Saul. N.The Law of Explosive Growth- To add growth, lead followers-to multiply, lead leaders In the earlier part of his reign David was able to grow the army in size and potency in warfare. David has at least thirty chiefs responsible for hundreds of men. On top of this there are many that defected to David to increase further the strength of his army. O. The Law of Legacy ââ¬â A leaderââ¬â¢s lasting value is measured by succession Before he died, David left the Kingdom of Israel into the hands of capable men. One of them is Solomon who grew up to lead Israel into its golden age. But there is perhaps no other legacy that David left behind than to prepare a bloodline from which Jesus Christ will come from. Conclusion Even though the 21 laws of leadership was a modern take at leadership principles and values; it is clear to see that ancient men were able to observe and practice them. One of the ancient rulers who benefited greatly from the wisdom of the 21 laws is a young man called David. He was once a shepherd boy who grew up to become one of the most beloved and one of the most accomplished military general and ruler of Israel. References Maxwell, J. (2007). Proccess Costing vs Job Order free essay sample
The Hershey Company/ Kaiser Aluminum Process costing is used mostly in companies when converting raw materials into homogenous products. A single product is produced on a continuous basis and all units of the product are identical. Costs are computed by department where the materials, labor, or overhead costs are added to the product in the processing department. Our two companies, The Hershey Company and Kaiser Aluminum, convert raw materials to their finished products of chocolate and aluminum. The Hershey Companys main raw materials come from cocoa products such as cocoa liquor, cocoa butter and cocoa powder that is processed from cocoa beans. They continuously make certain chocolate products under their brand name or franchise. Under their annual report it states that their cost of sales represents the costs directly related to the manufacture and distribution of their products. These costs are the raw materials, packaging, direct labor, overhead, shipping and handling, and warehousing and distribution facilities. We will write a custom essay sample on Proccess Costing vs Job Order or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Their manufacturing overhead includes salaries, wages, utilities, maintenance and property taxes. This shows why The Hershey Company would use process costing because their costs are traced to only a few departments and there arent significant differences among the costs of various products. They are continuously making large batches of chocolate products and use an assembly line of mixing, refining, molding and wrapping to do it. Kaiser Aluminum has separate facilities for specific markets and processes. They use raw materials of alloy to create aluminum. Kaiser focuses on specific products of aluminum ranging from different sizes, shapes and quality. But they are constantly making aluminum. Both of these manufactures would use process costing because they are continuously making large quantities of the same identical product for each period. The costs are allocated to the units of the product in order to create an average cost for each unit. Job Order Costing ââ¬â Debevoise Plimpton/ Delta Marine Job-order costing is used in situations where many heterogeneous products are produced each period. Debevoise and Plimpton is a law firm that uses job order costing to manage their individual client accounts. Debevoise and Plimpton provides a wide array of legal services related to litigation, real estate, M A, tax and many more. Delta Marine is a custom yacht building company that also uses job order costing due to the uniqueness and varying costs of each order. For example the website details plans on building a 70 foot yacht mainly to be used for those who enjoy fishing and diving. It also details a 66 meter yacht with a focus on the interior for those who are interested in worldwide cruising. The costs of these two products would vary greatly. In the case of Debevoise and Plimpton, each client they represent may be considered a ââ¬Å"job. â⬠The true cost of each job would be difficult to measure. Direct Materials such as legal forms, shipping costs, etc and Direct Labor such as attorney wages may be easier to match to the specific job, but overhead such as the cost of secretaries, depreciation, mailroom clerks, etc would be very difficult to link to a specific client. Examples of Overhead for Delta Marine that would be hard to link would be incoming inspection costs, dock rental space, website maintenance and advertising costs. While some overhead may be fixed from month to month such as factory rental and lease costs, the number of jobs produced for each of these companies could vary dramatically from month to month. These expenditures will need to be factored into the cost of each job using a predetermined overhead rate. Total overhead costs would need to be estimated in advance and divided by the allocation base (both companies would most likely use estimated direct labor hours for their allocation base). Estimating these overhead costs in advance establishes a unit cost which helps these companies compute the cost of goods sold on their income statement and set rates that would lead to future profit.

Isolation of Microorganisms from Environmental Samples Essays
Isolation of Microorganisms from Environmental Samples Essays Isolation of Microorganisms from Environmental Samples Paper Isolation of Microorganisms from Environmental Samples Paper It is crucial in the field of microbiology to study the morphology, biological activity, and the behavior of microbes thus the isolation of such microbes from the environment is necessary because it allows scientists to study them in close proximity. Microbial life forms are found everywhere. They are major players in biochemical cycling of elements and primary producers in numerous environments. There are also some microbes living inside higher forms of organisms that aid in digestion and provide vitamins. Some scribes can also be antagonistic or harmful to humans, and when scientists isolate them, they can study and identify ways on how to counteract the microbes harmful effects. This exercise aims to isolate microorganisms from a variety of environmental samples and to enumerate the different microbial species observed. Methodology Rest Its and Discussion Bacteria, molds and yeast have different colony morphologies and characteristics that are specific to the genus and species of the organism. Bacterial colonies can be classified by color, form, elevation, margin, opacity ND size. Mold and yeast colonies can be classified and described by their color, texture, feature on the reverse side and more. Also, the source from which the bacteria samples were gathered should be taken into consideration. In the experiment, the microorganisms that were isolated were gathered and collected from the environment. As such, only h strength AN was prepared along with the SAD. It was observed on the AN plates that there were multiple bacterial colonies formed that did not differ so much in color or elevation. Most colonies were white or a color that is just as light, like yellow or salmon pink. The sizes of the isolated colonies are relatively small, most just less than 1 mm in diameter. The AN plate in which bacterial colonies were numerous was on the ones exposed in air that is outside the laboratory. The fewest were the ones that were swabbed on the skin. There were also colony growths on the AN plates that were not bacterial colonies. It was observed on the SAD plates that most of the molds and yeast that grew were cottony in appearance and had a wrinkled reverse side.

Effect of the Charities Act 2006 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Effect of the Charities Act 2006 - Essay Example The designation of a charitable organization in the United Kingdomââ¬â¢s statute law, according to the Charities Act 2006, is an institution whose establishment is for charitable purposes alone. Some of the charitable purposes according to the Act include; the advancement of education, religion, and prevention of poverty. The charitable purposes also include the advancement of citizenship, health, animal welfare, arts, culture, heritage, and amateur sport, among others. However, for the purposes of convenience in classifying the aims of charity, Lord Macnaghten in 1891 when ruling the Commissioners for Special Income Tax v Pemsel [1891] AC 531 case put the aims under four heads. These heads are; the reprieve of poverty, the advancement of education, the advancement of religion, and any purposes that are of benefit to society. In order for an organization to be fully a charitable organization, one ought to be able to identify benefits rising from organizations to the advantage of t he society. The requirement is, also that the benefits that the charitable institution is providing must be directly related to the aims or purposes of the charity. Any harm that arises from the operations of the institution must be evenly balanced with the benefits that the institution provides. In addition to this, the institution ought to serve the general public or a target section of the public without any restrictions or discrimination. During the operations of the charitable institution, any private benefits ought to be secondary.... Any harm that arises from the operations of the institution must be evenly balanced with the benefits that the institution provides. In addition to this, the institution ought to serve the general public, or a target section of the public without any restrictions or discrimination. During the operations of the charitable institution, any private benefits ought to be secondary4. In the context of the law, it is essential to differentiate between the objects, the aims, and the means of a charity. A charitable trustââ¬â¢s objects, according to the Charity Commission of the United Kingdom, are the terms used to identify the purposes for which the institution wishes to serve the community5. As earlier stated, aims or purposes are the activities through which the charity will involve itself in trying to serve the community. The aims should not be profit oriented otherwise the charity commission will disapprove the institution of any charitable status. In addition to this, a charitable o rganization should state its means of income and how it plans to achieve its aims, where and how the organization will get the finances to effect their objects. The analogy in law is a process where judges have to establish a connection between the case at hand, and the provisions of the law. This involves a situation where a judge refers to a case or a provision in the law, which is not related to the case at hand, but there are similarities in the governing principles. In the process of identifying what category a charityââ¬â¢s purposes falls, it is vital to find out if there exists any analogy between the purposes of the organization, and the purposes set in

Utopia :: essays research papers
As its title hints, the essay which follows is not the history but biographical of an idea. The idea for the book called Utopia. Like all ideas for books it was born and had its whole life span in the mind of an author. Like all such ideas it ceased to be when the printed book Utopia became a black-on-white reality. Although there is no accurate record of its birth date, it seems to have been born in the mind of Sir Thomas More. As the writer I shall have to take into account the environment in which our subject passed its life and that environment was the mind of Sir Thomas More. To establish the lineaments of the idea for Utopia we shall perforce, for lack of better sources of information, rely on the book called Utopia We ourselves shall have to look very closely to separate the thinkers thought from the literary tricks of the trade. More's intentions in Utopia, must remain mysterious. A little more difficult to accept is the general implication of the review that the mysteriousness of the author's intent in Utopia is somehow a point in his favor, that the obscurity of his meaning enhances the merit of his work. The one point of unanimous agreement about Utopia is it is a work of social comment. Since Utopia is a work of many ideas, it is impossible of course to expand the book unless one has some notion of the hierarchy of conception in it. A caretul reading of Utopia does seem to me to reveal clearly the hierarchy of it author's ideas at the time he composed the book. Although the interpretation of Utopia which follows has no pretension to substantial novelty, but rather disavows it, my approach to the problem may seem singular and eccentric. The account of such an analysis will necessarily be a little dull, so I shall have to request the forbearance of the reader without being able to promise for his patie nce any large reward in the shape of a brand new insight. The inconsistency between the prospectus in the curious paragraph and the subject matter that follows in the printed version of Utopia becomes intelligible if we make a few assumptions about the development of the books composition. The conclusion various scholars have come to about More's attitude toward the institution of property coincides to a remarkable degree with their own pre-dilection on that point, or with their notion of what More should have thought.

The software was developed iteratively by submitting module by module. The requirements were changing time-to-time and the software had to go many changes throughout the development. Small chunks were developing from time-to-time which required some changes to be incorporated in the system. In the meanwhile the developed modules were tested and the feedback was collected continuously to incorporate in our system. The initial version of the software was released with some simple functionalities and the changes and feedback and requirements were updated which added some advancement to the software we developed. 2.2 Architectural Strategies 2.2.1 Programming Language Python- As python is one of the world's powerful programming languages it gives some of the built-in modules for development which makes system faster and easy for development. The classes and methods are developed using python. The prediction model uses some of the libraries in python. PromQL- The query for extraction and generation of the graphs has been written in PromQL query language 2.2.2 Future Plans As it comes to the future it will be taking the corrective actions automatically which means using AI agents for handling all the aspects of failure and recovery of the system. The enhancement includes chatbot implementation for limited set of queries about the usage stats and analysis of the data. 2.2.3 User Interface Paradigm The user will be provided with the dashboard for the results and reports generated. The dashboard provides various features like querying on the data and stats about the usage of resources and various functionalities. The predictive analysis will be shown in a console of the IDE PyCharm. The user will be given set of values through which the user get an idea about the usage. 2.2.4 Error Detection and Recovery ErrorDetection is carried out by user testing and slack bot has been setup to report the bug in the system. The different datasets are used for testing the ARIMA model has been carried out to test the efficiency of the system.Recovery has been done by alerting the user about the crash in the system using slack automated system and the systems stable state (previous state) will be restored. 2.2.5 Data Storage Management The data are extracted from the exporters and stored in a csv file. The extraction happens between an interval of 5 sec. As the data will be not accessed frequently and modified the data is stored on the stable storage within the machine running the programs. 2.2.6 Communication Mechanism Prometheus used http protocol to communicate with its client system and members. Message passing mechanism will be used to communicate with the exporters for the extraction of the raw data about usage of the resources. Grafana uses http protocol for extraction of the data from prometheus. The data will be passed by prometheus to grafana using the endpoint ââ¬Ë/metrics'. 2.2.7 Graph Generation Mechanism The prometheus tool uses a query language called PromQL used for aggregating the extracted data and based on those factors the graphs will be generated. 2.3 System Architecture As it comes to system architecture typical style has been used which is separate modules and microservices has been used to build the system.Figure 2.2 System Architecture 2.4 Data Flow Diagrams2. 4.1 Data Flow Diagram ââ¬â Level 0 Figure 2.3 Data Flow Diagram ââ¬â Level 0 Initial step is to collect the data from the system (AWS) and the data are stored in CSV file for further analysis. Speech Shortage in Schools Dissertation Proposal
According to the ASHA, as few as 2 percent of licensed SLPs in any given state are also bilingual. Given the fact that there is already a critical shortage of SLPs throughout the school systems in the United States, who are skilled in English, this makes teaching and learning especially difficult for English Language Learners. A study in Colorado asked 154 SLPs who served children coming from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds about their comfort level working in a diverse environment (Guiberson Atkins, 2012). The outcome of the study was that the SLPs felt comfortable when the diversity was of a cultural or racial type. However, cases involving linguistic minorities caused a great deal of anxiety among respondents. The SLPs would access interpreters to help them work with the students, instead of relying on family members, but even finding an interpreter was often a struggle. Also, the fact that these students could not access the English-language assessment tools al so meant that there was some difficulty providing accurate diagnosis and services. Because of the reported shortage in available tools for assessment, and a lack of norming data for the development of language in children from diverse linguistic backgrounds, the quality of services provided was likely to suffer. A 2012 study of 128 SLPs who attended a seminar about linguistic and cultural diversity for the SLP provided similar results. Although almost half of the respondents reported minimal skill in a language besides English, only 9.4 percent reported proficiency in another language. However, the participants reported that, on average, they had each served an average of 59.4 children who had multilingual backgrounds. Significantly, many of the respondents were responsible for assessing the speech of children (50.5 percent) without any assistance ââ¬â not even from an interpreter. Roughly a third (34.2 percent) were responsible for assessing all of language skills without any assistance from anyone familiar with the native language of the students (Williams McLeod, 2012). The respondents also reported their anxiety about serving children from multilingual backgrounds without any support in those native languages, either in the form of language-specific assessments or other forms of tra ining. Because of the lack of precise instruments, the SLPs reported difficulty in differentiating between the diagnoses of speech and language disorder as opposed to a mere difference. Obviously, the ultimate danger that goes with this anxiety that SLPs are reporting is reduced levels of performance by the students whom they serve. If students receive inaccurate assessments of their speech and language abilities, then they will not be able to advance at the same rate as their native-language peers ââ¬â and it is this difference that the purpose of bilingual education and English Language Learning programs are supposed to ameliorate. The shortage of bilingual SLPs means that children who come into American classrooms without the ability to speak English may go through the public school systems without having their difference every identified (Pena, Gillam, Bedore Bohman, 2011). Ultimately, the school system will have failed those students, because of their inability to attract bilingual SLPs to serve the students. The task for every district is to seek out and find professionals to fill those roles, so that students can receive the services that they deserve â â¬â and that they need in order to move through school at the appropriate level. Automatic Transfer Law An Effective Policy - 1218 Words
Researchers conducted a national study of how the juvenile court judge weighs the pertinent Kent criteria. This criterion is based on the potential risk to the community, the maturity of character and amenability to intervention. The purpose of this study is three fold, first to test the juvenile court judges beliefs regarding the mechanics of how juveniles are transferred, second to examine the judges beliefs about the usefulness of data presented of them and third determined how juvenile judges weigh pertinent psychological concepts linked to transfer cases when making a decision. There were four hypothesis based on previous research and theory, one would be juvenile judges prefer case by case sorting and second juvenile court judges would find information on the Kent concepts useful to their decision and want the Kent information in the form of a psychological report. The third hypothesis is weighing the concepts; juveniles who scored high on dangerousness and sophistication- matu rity, but low on amenability to treatment would most likely be transferred to adult court and fourth youths scoring low on the dangerousness and sophistication- maturity but high on the amenability to treatment would most likely retain in juvenile court. Participants in this study included National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. The first thing that Jehoshaphat did was to pray and ask God for help. He asked all the people not to eat for the day. Instead, he asked them to pray and ask God for help. Then, King Jehoshaphat stood in front of the people and prayed to God. He praised God for how powerful and wonderful He was. He asked God to help them defeat this enemy. Consumers are paying strict attention to the quality, cost and availability of the products they desire. Moreover, consumers are watching the business practices of the organizations that provide them with goods and services. We will write a custom essay sample on Measuring Customer Satisfaction or any similar topic only for you Order Now Organizations understand that in order to be profitable they need to create and maintain a wholesome customer base and in order to do this the customer has to be satisfied. When measuring the quality of an organizationââ¬â¢s goods and services, customer satisfaction predicts whether they retain their current customer base. At the very least organizations want to maintain current customers because adding new ones can be costly. Organizations need to know what expectations their customers have of their services and products, the effectiveness of their marketing strategies, the strength of their companyââ¬â¢s image, as well as the key elements that most heavily influence customer retention for their business (Importance of Customer Feedback, 2011). This paper will explore what best practices such as customer feedback and evaluations, customer satisfaction, market analysis, service analysis and marketing strategic planning organizations are using to measure customer satisfaction in order to keep their loyal customers while adding new ones. Customer Feedback and Evaluations Organizations are listening to and acting on what their customers are saying by using customer feedback and evaluations tools to improve their companyââ¬â¢s success. They using this to stay in sync with their customersââ¬â¢ wants and demands of the goods and services they provide. Companies understand by tailoring their goods and services to meet the customers desires will lead to higher business success (Bosma Research International, 2011). Customer Satisfaction Companies are realizing that for them to maintain a high level of success customer satisfaction is the key. They understand to achieve this, they have to know who their customers are, whatââ¬â¢s important to them, how satisfied they are with their goods and services, what keeps them coming back or why are they leaving, what are their needs and expectations of the goods and services provided and are those needs and expectations being met (Bosma Research International, 2011). Market Analysis Market analysis is another important tool that organizations are using to measure customer satisfaction. During this analysis, companies are looking at who are their competitors, how do customers compare them to their competitors, what can they do to increase their competitive edge and how do they compare to industry standards and benchmarks (Bosma Research International, 2011). Service Analysis Organizations rely heavily on their internal analysis and they understand the importance of this tool. In this analysis, companies are looking at what goods and services they provide are most important to their customers, what elements drive customer satisfaction and what is it about the goods and services they provide affects customer retention the most (Bosma Research International, 2011). Marketing and Strategic Planning Finally, businesses are using marketing and strategic planning techniques to measure customer satisfaction. Organizations are looking at the changes needed to their goods and services, how to prioritize the changes and how to implement the changes (Bosma Research International, 2011). Companies understand that this tool is probably one of the most important; however, all the aforementioned customer satisfaction measurements are closely interlinked. Types of Industries Compiled below are a list of industries I think would benefit from the customer satisfaction tools discussed in this paper: Chemical; Consumer Products; Electronics; Consulting; Retail; Publishing; Media; Health Care; Professional Services; Telecommunications; Financial Services; Banking; Computer Software; and Utilities. Each of these industries has a customer ase that they provide goods and services to; moreover, they each have a large number of competitors that their customers can choose. Linkage to My Organizationââ¬â¢s Practices This is a challenge linking these customer satisfaction tools to my former organization (US Army) because the Army does not sell products or services. However, I will go out on a limb to say that the US Army sells itself to the American people to gain recruits, trust and support. The US Army uses internal feedback and evaluations to improve training, food, housing, medical services, weapon systems and other equipment to retain current force levels. They understand that if Soldiers are not satisfied they will leave the service in rapid numbers. The US Army does have competitors (i. e. US Air Force, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard and Civilian Industries) and they look at what their competitors are offering that is equivalent. The US Army spends millions of dollars on marketing and strategic planning to attract new recruits as well keeping their current personnel. Recommendations for My Organizational Improvements I would recommend improving the quality of pay and benefits, recreational services, medical services, and assignment rotations. Summaryà In conclusion, customer satisfaction is an important factor for the bottom line. Statistics show that the typical company gets 65 percent of its business from existing customers and it costs five times more to find a new customer than to keep an existing one happy. One study found that businesses with 98 percent customer retention rate are twice as profitable as those at 94 percent (Evans Lindsay, 2009, p. 193). This research shows the importance of creating and implementing best practice tools to measure customer satisfaction, in doing so businesses will not only retain their current loyal customers but also in return add new ones. For this problem we will figure out if the Tartan 4100 is safe for sailing. The formula given is C= 4d1/3 where d is the displacement in pounds In the first example the boat has a beam of 13. 5 and a displacement of 23,245 lbs C = 4d1/3b The starting radical formula C = 4(23,245)1/3(13. 5) Values plugged in C = 4(. 035)(13. 5) Apply exponent C = 0. 14(13. 5) Multiply C = 1. 89 This is less than or equal to 2 so this vessel is safe for sailing. Another way to find out if the sailboat is safe for sailing is to take the radical formula we just got and solve for the variable d. c/4b3=d1/3(3) Multiply each side by 3/1 to cancel out the exponent. D = c ââ¬â 3 Since this is a negative, use the reciprocal to cancel out the negative 64b ââ¬â 3 D = 64b3 convert the cube root D = (4b/c)3 We were presented with the value of b being 13. 5 at the start of the problem. Variable c is used to represent the capsize screening value. Variable d represents the displacement in pounds. Variable b represents the beam width. While studying math many people feel there is very little or no place in the real word in which we will use what it is we are being taught. This problem has shown us that we can use radical formulas in the real world. The sailing world uses radical formulas to determine if a sailboat is safe for ocean sailing. REFERENCES Dugopolski, M. Leadership Organization Development at RCDP
One of the most notable aspects of a contemporary living in Saudi Arabia is the fact that, as time goes on; people are being exposed to the exponentially increased amounts of information about what appears to be the discursive essence of the surrounding natural, social and cultural reality.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Leadership Organization Development at RCDP specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This situation has been predetermined by the recent breakthroughs in the field of IT ââ¬â particularly, by the rise of Interment, which is the main driving force behind the process of this planet becoming increasingly ââ¬Ëflatââ¬â¢, in the allegorical sense of this word (Globalisation). In its turn, this has a strong effect of the qualitative dynamics within Saudi society ââ¬â something that is being reflected by the fact that more and more citizens come to realise that there is a strong call for the qual itative reformation of the countryââ¬â¢s system of education. The actual objective, in this respect, is to make it more adjusted to the worldwide discourse of post-modernity, which presupposes that it is essential for people to be able to understand the overall discursive significance of their professional careers. In plain words, there is the objectively predetermined need for a number of Saudi colleges/universities to be transformed (by the mean of organisational change) from being the places where students acquire knowledge (often socially irrelevant), into the places of helping them to grow wise about the actual ways of the world. In this paper, I will illustrate how it can be accomplished, in regards to the Riyadh College of Dentistry and Pharmacy (RCDP). RCDP was founded in 2004. As of today, it offers post-secondary courses (lasting 3 years) in the pharmacy/dentistry-related disciplines, such as dental surgery, dental hygiene, pharmaceutical science, nursing, etc. The numb er of this Collegeââ¬â¢s students is estimated to account for about a thousand, with the annual number of graduates ranging from 100 to 150 (Rahman, 2011).Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Even though RCDP is being commonly referred to as such that does provide high-quality education in the affiliated fields of specialisation, many of its graduates have shown the lack of competence in defining the most effective approaches towards disease-prevention. According to the Rector Abdullah Al Shammery, ââ¬Å"Students must be encouraged to become more adept in preventive dental care than treatmentâ⬠(Jara-Puyod, 2015, para. 4). This, of course, suggests that RCDP is the legitimate subject of organisational change. The sub-sequential phases of this change (expected to be implemented within the matter of twelve months) are as follows: The expansion of the Collegeââ¬â¢s curr iculum to include the so-called ââ¬Ëliberal sciencesââ¬â¢, such as history, art and politics. In its turn, this will result in elevating the overall rate of the graduatesââ¬â¢ intellectual refinement ââ¬â hence, increasing their value as healthcare professionals. The elimination of the Collegeââ¬â¢s ââ¬ËEthical Review Committeeââ¬â¢ (consisted of individuals with the degrees in theology), which currently assess the ethical appropriateness of field-practices, associated with every particular course. This initiative aims to ensure that graduates would be able to adopt a proper professional stance, within the context of addressing real-life situations. The establishment of ââ¬ËCollege Councilââ¬â¢, as the institutionââ¬â¢s main governing body, the members of which will be in the position to partake in the making of executive decisions, concerned with the Collegeââ¬â¢s functioning. The members of this Council are to be selected (by the Collegeââ¬â¢s owners) out of the most academically successful students and most distinguished educators. The proposed establishment is meant to increase the extent of the RCDPââ¬â¢s functional flexibility, as an educational organisation. It is understood, of course, that the wished-for organisational change will have a considerable effect on both: professors and students, in the sense of requiring them to adjust to the Collegeââ¬â¢s newly adopted operational philosophy.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Leadership Organization Development at RCDP specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Consequently, the likelihood for this change to be successfully implemented, will positively relate to the ability of the change-agents to benefit from understanding what account for the affiliated change-driving and change-restraining forces, which can be outlined as follows: Change-driving forces The stakeholdersââ¬â¢ (students and professo rs) understanding of the fact that there are indeed a number of fully objective reasons for RCDP to undergo a qualitative transformation. The rational realisation of the would-be affected parties that, in the aftermath of having proven themselves capable of coping with the proposed change, the measure of their professional adequacy will reach a new height. The fact that RCDP enjoys the reputation of having its teachers and students endowed with the sense of corporate loyalty, which in turn presupposes that they would be willing to adapt to the organisational change in question. Change-restraining forces The stakeholdersââ¬â¢ awareness that, as the integral part of their adjustment to change, they will be required to apply an additional effort into ensuring that they do qualify for being associated with RCDP. This perspective, however, can hardly be considered utterly encouraging ââ¬â at least, as seen by most students and teachers. The fact that the proposed change does not quite correlate with the main principle of educational philosophy in Saudi Arabia ââ¬â the requirement for the deployment of just about any educational strategy in colleges and universities to be assessed from the theological perspective. This, of course, will cause some of the would-be affected professors and students to resist the proposed organisational restructuring. The above-mentioned implies that the most appropriate approach towards ensuring that RCDP does succeed in adopting the suggested principle of functioning would be concerned with increasing the discursive relevance of change-driving forces, on the one hand, and reducing the acuteness of the change-restraining ones, on the other. The main methodological guidelines, as to how this can be accomplished, are as follows: Holding informal conversations with professors and students about the sheer importance of the intended change, which in turn should help them to grow emotionally comfortable with the change-imposed re quirements. Encouraging students to reflect (in either written or verbal form) on what they believe should be the changeââ¬â¢s career-boosting implications. Educating participants that it is in their best interest to adapt to the proposed change, as the main precondition for them to be able to remain on the path of attaining a social prominence. Thus, it will be fully appropriate to define the suggested strategy for implementing change, as such that is being concerned with facilitation/support, on the one hand, and negotiation/agreement, on the other. The conceptual essence of this strategy is predetermined by the actual premise behind the functioning of the places of post-secondary learning ââ¬â while in the process of designing educational strategies (teachers) and coping with their academic assignments (students), the Collegeââ¬â¢s affiliates proceed with doing it in the largely autonomous manner. What it means is that it would be utterly inappropriate to apply any coe rcive action, as the mean of inducing change.Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More My change-related proposal draws heavily from Lewinââ¬â¢s theory of what accounts for a proper strategy to induce the organisationââ¬â¢s functional restructuring. The theoryââ¬â¢s central provision is concerned with the assumption that the functioning of just about any organisation is highly systemic, which in turn implies that it would be wrong to think that this organisationââ¬â¢s overall quality is summative of the qualities of its integral elements (Rosch, 2002). The reason for this is that the factor of the mentioned change-facilitating and change-restraining forces never ceases to affect the structural integrity of such an organisation ââ¬â hence, justifying the soundness of the ââ¬Ëdynamicââ¬â¢ outlook on change. What it means is that it is specifically the change-agentsââ¬â¢ aptness in convincing the would-be affected individuals to be willing to adapt to change, which should be deemed the main prerequisite for the planned action to prove effective. According to Kritsonis (2004), the key to success, in this respect, is, ââ¬Å"Persuading (change-participants)â⬠¦ to agree that the status quo is not beneficial to them and encouraging them to view the problem from a fresh perspectiveâ⬠(p. 2). The adoption of Lewinââ¬â¢s theory of change, as such that provides us with the circumstantially adequate methodological framework for tackling the subject matter in question, correlates perfectly well with the post-modern outlook on quality in education. As Alnaweigah (2013) noted, ââ¬Å"The education quality is a series of communications with customers (students), with a view to providing them with knowledge, skills and attitudes that enable them to meet organizationsââ¬â¢ expectationsâ⬠(p. 56). Because the proposed change-approach emphasises the importance of providing teachers and students with both: the emotionally-charged and rationale-based incentives to adapt to change, it can also be discussed within the discur sive framework of the ââ¬Ësymbolic-interpretativeââ¬â¢ conceptualisation of organisational change, as the instrument of bringing the would-be affected organisation to a new operational level. According to Hatch (2013), ââ¬Å"Symbolic theorists see (organisational) structures as human creations, they are dynamic works-in-progress that emerge from social interaction and collective meaning-makingâ⬠(p. 113). This, of course, presupposes that instead of being defined in terms of a rigidly defined structure, just about any modern organisation should be perceived as a continually evolving ââ¬Ëorganismââ¬â¢ ââ¬â especially if it is concerned with the matters of education. The reason for this is that such an organisation is especially sensitive towards the philosophical implications of the currently prevalent socio-cultural discourse. The proposed organisational change also implies that, in order to be successful, it must be sustainable, in the sense of never ceasing t o appeal to the potentially affected stakeholders. Consequently, this presupposes that, in order to implement it, its agents will be required to convince the former that the intended restructuring is indeed objectively predetermined. In its turn, this can only be achieved if the change-agents choose in favour of the circumstantially sound leadership-model. In light of what has been said earlier, it is specifically the Transformational model of leadership, which appears to be most consistent with the proposed changeââ¬â¢s actual goal. This model is based upon the assumption that the main precondition for a particular organisation to remain functionally effective is the sense of a corporate solidarity, experienced by this organizationââ¬â¢s affiliates, regardless of what happened to be their hierarchical status within it (Weiss, 2011). The modelââ¬â¢s another essential provision is that, in order for the agent of change to be able to ensure the stakeholdersââ¬â¢ compliance , he or she would have to convince them that their change-related cooperation will help them to achieve the state of self-actualisation (Pedler, Burgoyne Boydell, 2010). This once again confirms the legitimacy of the suggested change-plan, as such that depends on the change-agentsââ¬â¢ ability to win conscious support of students and teachers at RCDP. The appropriateness of the proposed plan for reforming RCDP can also be illustrated, in regards other theoretical considerations, which clearly apply in our case. One of them has to do with the fact that the realities of post-modern (Globalised) living presuppose that, while in the process of designing its educational policies, a particular college or university must remain one step ahead of the currently predominant social discourse. This idea correlates with Leithwoodââ¬â¢s (2008) suggestion that, within the realm of education, the ââ¬Ënextââ¬â¢ (consistent with the ways of the future) practices represent a higher value, as compared to the ââ¬Ëbestââ¬â¢ (as seen by their contemporaries) ones. The reason for this is that, as it was implied earlier, in the near future the actual worth of a highly trained professional will not only be assessed, in regards to the extent of his or her de facto professionalism, but also in regards to the measure of the concerned individualââ¬â¢s ââ¬Ëquick-mindednessââ¬â¢. What it means is that, along with studying the dentistry-related and pharmacology-related disciplines, students must also learn how to relate their would-be acquired technical knowledge to the humanityââ¬â¢s overall historical legacy ââ¬â hence, making them emotionally comfortable with the idea that in the field of their specialisation, ââ¬Ëpreventionââ¬â¢ is just as important as ââ¬Ëtreatmentââ¬â¢. What also justifies the proposed organisational change is that its format is consistent with the idea that the key to ensuring the successfulness of such a change, is making it thoroughly participative. This, however, can only be achieved if throughout the processââ¬â¢s entirety, the affected stakeholders are being kept fully informed, as to the actual reason why the organisationââ¬â¢s restructuring needed to be undertaken, in the first place. As Self and Schraeder (2009) pointed out, ââ¬Å"Management must provide evidence that the current ways are no longer acceptable or appropriate if the organization is to remain successful or regain successâ⬠(p. 171). What makes the adoption of my change-plan especially appropriate, in this respect, is that the sub-sequential phases of its practical implementation are highly interactive, which in turn will ensure the integrity of the informational transactions between the agents of change, on the one hand, and the potentially affected second and third parties, on the other (Syed, Azhar Shahid, 2013). Essentially the same line of argumentation can be applied, when it comes to justifying the establishme nt of ââ¬ËCollege Councilââ¬â¢, as the crucially important phase of the proposed organisational change. After all, one of its primary functions will be concerned with providing teachers and students with the opportunity to socialise informally, which in turn will allow it to act as the mediating body between the former and the latter. Given the fact that, as it was implied earlier, communication is the actual ââ¬Ëforceââ¬â¢ that binds the organisationââ¬â¢s structural elements together, there can be only a few doubts that RCDP will indeed benefit from the institutionalisation of ââ¬ËCollege Councilââ¬â¢. One of the reasons for this is quite apparent ââ¬â the adoption of the mentioned initiative should result in inducing the state of mutual understanding between teachers and students, which will have a positive effect on the measure of the Collegeââ¬â¢s systemic resilience. This simply could not be otherwise, because as Branson (2007) noted, ââ¬Å"The cur rently acknowledged widespread resistance to organisational change is caused by a failure of current organisational change strategies to attend to a values alignment process for all those people affected by the desired changeâ⬠(p. 376). There is, however, even more to it ââ¬â the uninterrupted functioning of this semi-legislative body within the College, will create the objective preconditions for RCDP to become ever more competitive, as an educational organisation. There are two objective reasons for this to be the case. First ââ¬â the initiativeââ¬â¢s implementation will pave the way for teachers to be prompted to act as ââ¬Ëparticipativeââ¬â¢/Transformational leaders (who are willing to take into consideration the feedback from their followers), within the context of how they would go about designing a particular educational policy. This, in turn, will necessarily result in making RCDP a ââ¬Ëchange-friendlyââ¬â¢ organisation ââ¬â something that ma y only have a strong beneficial effect on the Collegeââ¬â¢s ability to be perceived as a thoroughly legitimate academic establishment in the future. Second ââ¬â the founding of ââ¬ËCollege Councilââ¬â¢ will set RCDP on the path of becoming a ââ¬Ëproactiveââ¬â¢ (rather than merely ââ¬Ëreactiveââ¬â¢) educational organisation, which should come in particularly handy through the times of economic instability. I believe that the provided line of argumentation, as to what are the main indications that the proposed plan for organisational change at RCDP is indeed discursively appropriate, correlates well with the initially outlined rationale for this change to take place.
